Pentecost has come. Day 50. As ones who share in the Risen Life of Christ, today we receive the divine energy to accomplish the work. As with the apostles on that day, we, too, receive the Holy Spirit, speak words that will be understood and are empowered to proclaim God’s good news.  

The Holy Spirit sent, given, and received in Pentecost reveals some very important things about the nature of God and the nature of our Risen Life from here onward.

God is in us through the Spirit. We are filled. Fueled. Infused. Clothed. Empowered. Connected. Charged. Holy divine energy is given and fills us. As with God and Jesus, this is eternal. It has no limit. It is always renewable. It lasts forever. The Holy Spirit doesn’t run out. It is never removed once bestowed. It is an everlasting flow of energy.

Trust that you will have what you need to live the Risen Life. 

Different languages. God includes. God embraces different. God working through us with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit will let our risen living expand, include, and embrace diverse people. God gives us divine power to go beyond our limits, beyond our tribe, beyond our safe circle. We are empowered to connect. New neighbors and friends will understand our words and feel welcomed into risen living. Love is not contained by human borders.

God needs our voice. God wants the message shared. The Holy Spirit equips recipients with the power to speak, proclaim, and witness. We are made messengers of Good News. The Holy Spirit helps us be announcers. Our vocation is now clear. We proclaim the message by our living, loving, words, and actions.

Trust the Spirit. God chooses again to be with us in ways that will change us and lift us and set us free. It is given with intention and generosity. Today you receive the divine energy to live the Risen Life: to be eternal love.

Alleluia! Christ is Risen! Indeed. Alleluia!

May this proclamation of Good News, received, believed, confirmed, and now empowered in you by the Holy Spirit take you into the world.
